Park Vista Sets Team Record With 4th Straight District Title
The 2026 District 7A-11 champion Park Vista Cobras.
The Park Vista Cobras are no strangers to the district championship. Since its first title back in 2007, the Cobras have been regular contenders that have filled up the trophy case over the years. But on Thursday the Cobras set the bar even higher, as their 5-0 victory over the Boca Raton Bobcats earned their fourth consecutive district championship.
Park Vista (17-5) celebrates its 13th overall district trophy, which included three straight from 2012 to 2014, before their current three-peat from 2023 to 2025 set the stage for Thursday’s historical achievement.
Senior Cody Wexler set the tone on the mound for the Cobras. The three-year varsity veteran went the distance for his first career complete-game shutout, limiting the Bobcats (14-9) to four hits over seven shutout innings. Wexler did not allow a walk, while he racked up nine strikeouts on just 85 total pitches.
The top of the batting order did much of the damage to pace the offense, which wasted no time in scoring in each of the first two innings to build a 3-0 lead. Blake Bagwell led off with a single to left, Michael Maynes followed with a walk and Owen Dever got the job done with a ground ball to the right that advanced both runners into scoring position. Hunter Bruce next connected for a double to center that drove in both runners for a 2-0 advantage. Kaden Novak then reached on an error and scored on a sac-fly RBI from Maynes in the second.
Park Vista added two insurance runs in the fifth. Dever started the frame with a base hit on a liner to center, Bruce singled to right and Novak supplied a two-RBI single that found a hole through the left side of the defense.
