Atlantic Christian’s Cuello Celebrates 400th Career Victory
Atlantic Christian Manager Miguel Cuello celebrated his 400th career coaching victory earned on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
It has already been a historic 2026 season for the Atlantic Christian Sharks, and on Saturday they enjoyed another reason for celebration. Veteran Manager Miguel Cuello earned his 400th career coaching victory, following the Sharks’ 12-1 victory over the Berean Christian Bulldogs.
Cuello took over the coaching reigns for the Sharks last season, and the program has surged forward in the time since. Atlantic Christian improved to 11-2 overall, winning its fourth straight game as it gears up for the upcoming playoff push.
Berean Christian jumped out with a 1-0 lead when Victor Villareal reached on an error that scored Levi Senseman in the first, but the Sharks wasted no time in answering back to take control. They scored three runs in the bottom of the first, and put the game away with a nine-run third inning. Freshman Bryan Zuniga led the way by going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBI and three runs. Senior Giovanni Garcia went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs, and junior Micah Herring was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.
The Sharks are now just one win away from matching the program record of 12 wins, set in its first year back in 2014. After reaching the regional playoffs last season with a wild card berth, Atlantic Christian aims to win its first district title in school history this season. In doing so, the Sharks would return to the regional playoffs, but would also host the regional quarterfinals as a district winner.
