Park Vista’s Larry Greenstein Earns Career Win #600

The Cobras celebrate with their skipper after earning his 600th career coaching victory on Friday night.
The Park Vista Cobra’s first win of the 2025 season will forever be remembered.
More than just the first notch in the left-hand column, Friday’s 5-2 victory over the Jupiter Warriors in the final game of the HSBN First Pitch Frenzy Elite Invitational tournament earned longtime Manager Larry Greenstein his 600th career win.
“Baseball is definitely a game of failure, so when you get a chance to experience some success it makes you appreciate the journey and the milestones you shared with your family, coaches and former and current players,” Greenstein said.
The Cobras (1-2) struck right away to put themselves in the driver’s seat for history, with four runs in the bottom of the first inning that gave them a lead they never surrendered.
Patience and plate discipline were key to getting things going, as Cooper Ellis, Will Bavaro and Caleb Smith all worked walks to immediately load bases. Ellis came in on a wild pitch, and then senior Anthony Espinoza delivered an RBI single to left to keep it going. Junior Owen Dever followed with the biggest hit of the day, a liner to center that drove in two more runs that were the difference.

Park Vista added another insurance run in the bottom of the sixth. Cameron Kotch singled and then advanced into scoring position thanks to a sacrifice bunt from Tristan Pokabla, and Bavaro drove him home with an RBI base hit to right field.
The Warriors (1-2) jumped ahead with a 1-0 lead in the first. Brady Blanks stroked a one-out double to left, and Gabe Graulau came through with an RBI infield single.
It was Graulau who delivered again to cut the deficit in half with a run in the top of the third that made it a 4-2 score. Colton Schwarz walked and both Blanks and Jake Finnegan followed with base hits that loaded up the bags. Graulau did his job by getting the ball on the ground, resulting in an RBI fielder’s choice that erased the runner at third.
The teams meet again at the end of the season, when Jupiter hosts the Cobras on April 8th at Doug Ferguson Field.
