Boca’s Walls Stifles Seminole Ridge In 4-0 Win
Boca Raton has been one of the top teams in Palm Beach County so far in 2024, and the Bobcats continued their hot start Tuesday afternoon with a 4-0 shutout win over Seminole Ridge.
The Bobcats got the scoring going early in this one with a three-run second inning.
Righty sophomore Chase Walls went five innings for the victory giving up five hits, while striking out three.
On the other side, Michael Donals went four innings for the Hawks.
Offensively for the Bobcats Jack Disalvo led the way with two hits as well as the first run scored. Nikolas Halleran also had two hits, in the loss for the Hawks.
“To be honest, we didn’t play great baseball today,” said Bobcats Manager Christian Benhart. “But our pitching and defense definitely kept us in the game, and we were able to score enough runs to come away with the win.”
On the other side, the hawks have been in most of their games this year, as they were on Tuesday, but they haven’t yet put it all together.
“Another tough game tonight, versus Boca, ultimately, you know, we, out hit Boca, but, we also made too many errors,” said Manager Carmine Cioffoletti. “Their pitcher did a good job I thought, of getting us to put the ball in play and, his defense backed him up, and they made their plays. We got base runners on, but, unfortunately, just we’re not able to get them in with runners in scoring position.”
Pitchers Michael Donals and the lefty Chase Gray, couldn’t get support offensively this evening in Boca. “Both were good enough on the mound and give us chance to win, but, ultimately, our defense didn’t, didn’t do their job,” said Cioffoletti.
The Bobcats will now turn their attention to King’s Academy next week, as they look to continue their strong start, heading towards the second half of their season.
Seminole Ridge will look to rebound on the road, taking on Wellington, next week.
Boca is sitting at #3 in the HSBN Palm Beach Power Rankings, and have their sights set on the top slot.
