Trinity Christian On To Fort Myers To Defend 2A

The 2A-4 Regional Champion Trinity Christian Warriors are ready to return to the state tournament to defend their crown.
The Trinity Christian Warriors are not ready to relinquish their title yet. The reigning champions of Class 2A earned a return trip to the state tournament in Fort Myers next week, thanks to a 6-0 victory over Miami Christian on Tuesday afternoon.
Angel Tiburcio tossed a complete-game shutout to lead the Warriors (20-6) to the road victory. The junior right-hander allowed three hits and two walks while striking out seven, and he added a three-run home run at the plate to back his own cause.
Bertram Murray got things going right away for Trinity, reaching on a single with one out in the top of the first and then scoring when Kaeber Rog reached on an error. Murray had a big day at the plate to lead all hitters, going 3-for-5 with two runs.
Jorge Zambrano was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, and Serwin Kastaneer singled and scored as the Warriors added on to their lead to pull away late.
