PB Central Throws Combined No-Hitter Against Royal Palm
Palm Beach Central’s James Meyers led a combined effort with Jeremy Neff and Tyler Kramer for a no-hitter in a 6-0 win over Royal Palm Beach on Tuesday.
Jeremy Neff, Tyler Kramer and Meyers combined to keep the Wildcats (5-4) hitless through seven innings, striking out five and walking only three batters. Meyers started the game, picking up two strikeouts over three innings of work. Neff matched that with two strikeouts of his own in three innings of work, followed by a 1-2-3 top of the seventh from Kramer to end the game. Meyers picked up the win.
A walk in the third to Nick Adams and back-to-back walks to Sean Houck and Adrian Abreu in the sixth were the only base runners of the night for the Wildcats as they struggled to make good contact on pitches all night. David Rodriguez and Houck combined to throw 115 pitches over six innings in the loss. Together they walked four and struck out four Broncos batters on the night.
Brandon Liberto led the way on offense for the Broncos going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored. Liberto led the game off with a double and came around to score the first run of the game for the Broncos. A single in the fourth from Liberto drove in Robert Herrera and Dane Dorsainville for the final two runs of the game.
Jake Simon, Ivan Suarez, and James Meyers drove in the other three runs for the Broncos who scored all their runs over the span of three innings. Herrera led the team with two runs scored, one in the second and one in the fourth.
