Oxbridge Academy Walks Off For Win Over Jensen Beach
Oxbridge Academy narrowly got by Jensen Beach 6-5 with a walk-off sacrifice fly by Jack Azulay.
The Falcons struck first in the second inning. Kyle Abbott got the scoring started for the Falcons with a two-out ground ball single that scored both Lyon Richardson and Taylor Higgins.
In the fourth inning Taylor Higgins hit a two-run home run to put Jensen Beach up 4-0. They got one more run on a Zach Miller double to left field to go up by five, but that proved to be one less than they ultimately needed.
Oxbridge Academy came back from down with six unanswered runs, starting in the fourth inning with a two-RBI single by Jonathan Prokos. They answered again with one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to tie the game on a line-drive double by Andrew Johnson.
Oxbridge’s Alex Rao led off the seventh with a clutch leadoff single, and was relieved for Justin Hogan, who quickly took second on a wild pitch. Prokos then singled but could only advance the runner to third. Azulay next lifted a ball to left field, which was all that Hogan needed to score and walk off the first win of the season.
Bentley earned the win, throwing one scoreless inning and striking out one. Billy George took the loss for the Falcons.
