John Carroll Beats Jupiter Christian 11-3 In Season Opener.
Joey LaClaire, Matt LaRocca, and Justin O’Leary each chipped in with two RBI’s as John Carroll beat Jupiter Christian by a score of 11-3 on Monday afternoon. The 3A-7 meeting gives the Rams (1-0) an early lead in the district standings.
John Carroll started off the season just right by scoring three runs in the first half of the first inning, including a triple and an RBI by Brandon O’Brien.
Joey LaClaire received the start for the Rams and went three-and-a-third innings, striking out seven, before Jupiter Christian got to him and put some runs on the board. Nathan Espinol led off the fourth with a ground ball single to right field and Noah Noonan hit a two-run home run to right field to get the Eagles offense going.
The Rams scored two more runs in both the sixth and the seventh innings, and the base runners combined for seven stolen bases, including three steals by Austin Nirenberg.
Reed Burke took loss for Jupiter Christian, going three-and-a-third innings with eight strikeouts while allowing seven runs and five hits.
