Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, March 24th, 2016

Seventh-ranked Atlantic won its third in a row, shutting out Santaluces 7-0 in the GGI Classic at Lake Worth. Justin Varisco allowed five hits in six innings to earn the win for the Eagles (14-5). Alex Vega (three runs) and Austin Saunders (run) each had three hits. Cameron Husing went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a run and a walk. Zach Halpern led the Chiefs (5-13), going 2-for-2, and HBP Restivo doubled.

Wellington won its eighth game by a run this season and third in the Central Florida SLAM, defeating Rogers Heritage 6-5 after an eventful seventh inning. The Wolverines (11-6) scored four runs in the top of the inning, two of which coming on Ethan Kramer’s two-run, go-ahead RBI, before Rogers Heritage rallied for three of its own in the bottom of the inning. Kyle Black was the winning pitcher for the Wolverines, who interestingly also have lost three games by a run this year. Dom Paulo, Christian Vasquez and Jerry Cook each had two hits. Ryan Stark walked and drove in a run.
