Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Friday, March 4th, 2016

John I. Leonard snapped a seven-game losing streak and won for the first time since February 8th as it upset Atlantic 3-0 on Friday. Moise Carrasco struck out four, walked two and allowed two hits and no earned runs to get the win for the Lancers (2-7). Duane Cyr tossed five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and giving up four hits for the Eagles (7-4).

Tucker Weindorf went 2-for-3 and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth to lift Palm Beach Gardens to a 5-4 win over Palm Beach Central in 9A-9. The win broke a two-game losing streak for the Gators (7-3, 3-0). Noah Hogue went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Park Vista held off a late rally at Lake Worth to escape with a 3-2 win. James Marinan struck out 10 in six and two-thirds innings for the Cobras (9-0), who halted a two-run comeback in the bottom of the seventh by the Trojans (6-4). Chase Ashby went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Patrick Skibisk tripled and drove in a run.

Dwyer improved to 3-0 in 7A-14 by edging West Boca 3-2. Oscar Bustamante went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in both of the Bulls’ runs in the top of the sixth. Chris Cavallo went 2-for-2 with a run.
