Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, February 11th, 2016

Sophomore outfielder Paul Lanoce drove in the winning run and earned the win on the mound as Benjamin edged Palm Beach Central 2-1 on Thursday in the Santaluces Slam. Lanoce pitched one and two-thirds innings of relief as he, starter Tyler Judge and middle reliever Nick Taplett combined to hold the Broncos to no hits.

In other Slam games, Atlantic beat Trinity Christian 5-1, Jupiter blanked Santaluces 12-0 and American Heritage topped John I. Leonard 8-2. Justin Varisco pitched five strong innings and also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, a double and a triple for the Eagles (2-1). Nelson Berkwich struck out nine in six innings to earn the win for the Stallions (2-1), and Tanner Brown went 2-for-2 with a run and RBI. Andrew Martinez led Jupiter (2-1) by going 3-for-4 with a double and RBI.
