Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014

“It ain’t over till it’s over.” Those are the words of Yogi Berra, but Tuesday night they took on special meaning for the Spanish River Sharks, who rallied for five runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 5-4 and avoid a shutout, season-ending loss on their field in an 8A-10 semifinal. Fenway Parks singled to lead off the bottom of the seventh. After Spencer Diaz walked, Ryan Berger singled and drove in Parks. Boomer Saraga walked. Mitchell Singer came in to relief Boca’s Austin Schultz and walked Austin Hurwitz and Billy Marion to make it 4-3. David Bard followed with ball hit toward second base. An error allowed the tying and winning runs to score.
Austin Smith pitched six innings, striking out five for Park Vista in a 9-0 win over Santaluces in the other 8A-10 semifinal. He also had a hit and drove in a run. Nik Constanakos pitched a one-hitter and Alex Gomez went 2-for-3 for Jupiter Christian in a 3-0 win over Highlands Christian…
