Daily Recaps For Palm Beach County Games On Tuesday, March 19th
Dwyer helped keep things interesting in 8A-9 to highlight a big day of action across Palm Beach County on Tuesday.
Dwyer 5, Palm Beach Central 0 – Hunter Hope and Brian Brooker had back-to-back home runs to lift the Panthers (5-6, 1-4) to their first win in 8A-9 this year. Hope was 2-for-2 and Broker went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. The Broncos are 10-3 overall and 3-2 in the district.
John I. Leonard 4, Forest Hill 2 – The excellent play of infield duo Coco Abreu and Oscar Singh helped lead the Lancers (7-3). Singh was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Abreu was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Christopher Bautista was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run for the Falcons (6-7).
Jensen Beach 7, Boynton Beach 2 – Victor Hughes was 3-for-3 with a double and a run and Johann Martin had two RBI’s for the Tigers (1-11), who fell to 0-5 in 5A-15. The Falcons improve to 5-0 in the district and 9-3 overall.
Berean Christian 19, Yeshiva 4 – DJ Lawler had five strikeouts in four innings to earn the win for the Bulldogs (4-3). Panama Mendez was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs and Zach Watson went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
Seminole Ridge 3, Boca Raton 2 – Jake Peaz had the winning hit as the Hawks (6-8, 1-4) walked off with their first 8A-10 victory this season. Zach Berry struck out seven for the complete-game victory. Michael Amditis had a double and a run for the Bobcats (4-9, 1-3).
Atlantic 10, Santaluces 0 – Cody Bryant earned the five-inning no-hit victory on the mound, finishing with 1 strikeouts while adding a home run and two RBIs at the plate. Jarren Pinkney was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Joey Ohannesian went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as the Eagles (8-6) recorded their second straight no-hitter and third of the season. The Chiefs are 7-6.
Park Vista 9, Spanish River 3 – The Cobras (10-2, 6-0) moved within one win of clinching the top seed in 8A-10. Trey Amburgey was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI and Austin Smith was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. The Sharks fell to 4-8, 2-4.
West Boca 2, Royal Palm Beach 0 – Bradley Busch picked up the victory on the mound to lead the Bulls (7-2) to their second shutout win in a row and fourth overall this season. Joe White was 2-for-3 with a double and Koby Pepia went 1-for-3 with an RBI. The Wildcats are 5-8.
Palm Beach Gardens 9, Wellington 4 – Joey Boyd had five strikeouts on the mound and JJ Schwarz had a triple, a home run and three RBIs as the Gators (11-3) improved to 3-2 in 8A-9. Nick Gallo and Nick Horvath had two hits and a double each and Tony Shutzer had three strikeouts in relief. The Wolverines are 7-7, 1-4.
Lake Worth 3, Palm Beach Lakes 2 – Chase Forrest pitched a complete-game with three strikeouts to lead the Trojans (2-11) in a game that was rained out on Monday. Greg Ellis had nine strikeouts in the loss for the Rams (2-10), and Garrett Manning and Adurin Peoples were both 2-for-3.
Trinity Christian 7, Elev8 2 – Manny Bejerano was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Warriors (8-5), who won their third in a row.
