Pope John Paul II 4, Cardinal Newman 3 (14) – Zander Retamar went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs to help the Eagles (4-4) outlast the Crusaders (4-3). Josh Parker pitched four innings, struck out three and allowed two hits and a run, and Alex Bialakis went five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and allowing no runs. Evan Schaffner threw three innings, striking out three and allowing one hit.
West Boca 10, Lake Worth 0 – Joe White went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Sean Kuchta went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs to lead the Bulls in the District 7A-14 game. The Bulls are tied with Atlantic for the top spot.
Boca Raton 6, Seminole Ridge 4 – Chris Sheehan allowed two earned runs and struck out seven in a complete game perormance for the Bobcats (4-3). Michael Simciklas went 1-for-3 with a triple and three stolen bases. Brian Merritts had a hit and run. Alex Aristy went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Hawks (4-5).
Haines City 6, King’s Academy 5 – John Monte doubled, homered and drove in two runs for the Lions (5-2), who have a key district game against Benjamin on Monday.
Wellington 8, Dwyer 2 – Mike Cusenza went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three runs and three RBIs, and Matt Morales went 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI. Spencer Stockton struck out seven in six innings. Hunter Hope homered for the Panthers.
Palm Beach Central 2, Auburndale 0 – John Padich struck out 10 and walked none in a complete-game performance as the Broncos improved to 5-1. Raige Hasko went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Atlantic 14, Olympic Heights 0 – Cody Bryant homered and drove in three runs, and Jesse Kieffer doubled, tripled and drove in three RBIs for the Eagles (2-5) as they tuned up for today’s HSBN Palm Beach County Game of the Week vs. American Heritage. Joey Ohannesian doubled and drove in a run.
Santaluces 14, Palm Beach Lakes 1 – Troy Steele and Dominic Teresa each had two hits, scored twice and drove in two.
Park Vista 4, Spanish River 3 – Austin Smith pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing no walks while striking out 12. Tyler Barre had a hit and three RBIs. Nyle Newland, Joey Genord, River and Sarada doubled.
