After the long offseason, Palm Beach teams hit the field for the first time on Monday. Here are some of the day’s highlights…

Jupiter Christian 4, Boynton Beach 1 – The Eagles started their season on a high note behind the strong pitching of Nik Constantakos. The freshman went six innings, striking out 10 Tigers. Constantakos also went 1-for-3 with a run at the plate. For Boynton, Kyle Tedesco had seven strikeouts in five innings of work.

King’s Academy 2, Santaluces 1 – John Monte made sure that the Lions began the season in the win column by tossing six solid innings. Monte drove in a run, as did Jacob Krigbaum. Up next for the Lions is another tough test in the Santaluces Slam, a date with Jupiter on Tuesday.

Trinity Christian 8, Summit Christian 7 – The Warriors outlasted the Saints by scoring four runs in the third, and three runs in the fifth. Bruce Martin paced the offensive attack, going 2-for-4, with a home run and two RBIs. Trinity will face Palm Beach Central in a match-up of two 1-0 teams on Tuesday in the Santaluces Slam.
Boca Raton Christian 6, Oxbridge Academy 4 – The Blazers got off to a quick start in 2013 behind the pitching of R.J. Walsh. The senior was aided by four runs in the first inning from the Blazers offense. Boca Christian will take its 1-0 record into a match-up with St. Andrew’s later this week.
