Daily Recap For Palm Beach Games On Tuesday, February 12th
Trinity Christian and Santaluces earned wins in the Santaluces Slam on Tuesday. Here’s a wrap-up of some of the day’s highlights…
Trinity Christian 5, Palm Beach Central 2 – The Warriors earned their second consecutive Santaluces Slam win behind the efforts of Franco Guardascione and Emilio Pena. Guardascione went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBIs and a run. Emilio Pena struck out five in a complete-game performance.
Santaluces 4, American Heritage 3 (9 innings) – The Chiefs earned their first win of the year by edging the Stallions in extra innings in the Santaluces Slam. Santaluces scored three in the seventh to send the game into extras. Troy Stark gave up no earned runs in three innings pitched and drove in the winning run in the ninth.
John I. Leonard 6, Suncoast 5 – The Lancers held off a seventh-inning rally by the Chargers to open the season. Chris Johnston recorded seven strikeouts, gave up two earned runs and six hits while walking three. Noel Canete went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs. Justin Walker tripled for Suncoast.
Boca Raton 7, Dwyer 3 – Mike Smiciklas went 1-for-3 with two runs, Evan Lahr went 1 for 3 with a triple and three RBI, and Andrew Sperling went 1 for 3 with a run for the Bobcats. Austin Marrs went 2-for-3 for the Panthers.
St. Edward’s 6, Jupiter Christian 5 – Joseph Pozo led St. Edward’s by going 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and run. Garrett Shook went 1 for 3 with a double, run and RBI to pace the Eagles, who halted the rally by St. Edward’s in the seventh.
Boca Raton Christian 18, American Prep 5 – Tommy Havelka went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Jack Havelka went 3-for-3 with seven RBIs for the Blazers.
